Ayurveda - 45 Hours
Ayurveda, or "the science of life," originated in India thousands of years ago. It is an orientation to healing that focuses on prevention and maintenance of health through balancing of the internal conditions of the body. Knowledge of Ayurveda enables one to understand how to balance body, mind and consciousness according to one’s own individual constitution and how to shape one's lifestyle to maintain this balance.
Many factors may unbalance an individual's state of being, for example emotional state, diet and food choices, seasons and weather, physical trauma, work and family relationships. Ayurveda helps us to understand these factors, take appropriate action and therefore minimize or eliminate their effects. Health is seen as balance and order and disease as imbalance and disorder. When one understands the nature and structure of disorder, one can re-establish order.
This course is an in-depth discovery of Ayurvedic philosophy, principles, digestion and nutrition, massage, personal constitution, and cycles. You will learn about the doshas, which help you to see a more holistic and compassionate perspective of yourself and others.
